Electronic Technician  PDF
Job Purpose:
The Electronic Technician will support test, manufacturing and design of electronic frequency control products.

Duties:
•  Assist in manufacturing and testing of products, yield improvements and cost reductions.
•  Solve electrical performance or design issues.
•  Generate test/assembly instructions for production and implement into practice.
•  Provide hands-on testing support and training to production operators.
•  Assist in activities of new product release to production.
•  Pre-production pilot run testing.
•  Generate all documentation required for new product release.
•  Automation of testing projects.
•  Hands-on assembly and test of engineering prototypes and test fixtures.
•  Create engineering and manufacturing documentation.
•  General maintenance of manufacturing test equipment and process equipment.

Skills/Qualifications:
•  AS or BS degree in electronics or equivalent experience.
•  Analog/RF circuit knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
•  Effectively use electronic test and measurement equipment.
•  Motivated self starter that can create solutions and implement them.
•  Ability to work in production environment and effectively assist non-technical personnel.
•  Effective data collection and analysis.
•  Good soldering and electronic/mechanical assembly skills.
•  Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
•  Ability to troubleshoot and solve production equipment problems.

Experience:
•  Electronic product manufacturing and automated testing experience preferred.
•  Experience in design of analog or RF products.
•  Familiarity with computer systems; engineering, technical drawing and math software; MSOffice, database software, LabView and MRP/ERP systems.
•  Experience with quartz crystal usage and or hybrid microelectronic manufacturing is a plus.
•  Machine shop experience is a plus.

Design Engineer  PDF
Job Purpose:
Valpey Fisher (VF) is looking for an Electronic / Electrical Design Engineer to be located in its Hopkinton, MA headquarters. The position will be responsible for the design and development of next generation frequency control products.

Duties:
•  Enhance existing product families with new frequency offerings.
•  Evaluate new circuit techniques for improved performance.
•  Cost reduce existing designs.
•  Provide Production with technical support as required.
•  Train Production personnel on test and tune methods for existing and new product releases.
•  Construct evaluation boards and test fixtures as required.
•  Generate all documentation required for new product release.
•  Work with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, network analyzers, power supplies etc) and provide technical data to document project development.

Skills/Qualifications:
•  Analog and digital circuit design, RF Design using techniques up to 4 GHz, Oscillator design, PLL design, Technical Writing and Communication, Lab View programming and Micro-controller programming.

Requirements:
•  MSEE or BSEE plus 3-5 years of circuit design experience.
•  Oscillator or frequency control product knowledge.

Job Purpose:
Valpey Fisher (VF) is looking for an Application Engineer to be located in its Hopkinton MA headquarters. The position will be responsible for providing direct technical support to customers and be the technical interface between customers and engineering.

Duties:
•  Provide technical support to new and existing customers
•  Provide advanced technical support to Sales Engineering
•  Solve technical problems in customer applications
•  Develop reference designs and demo boards for new products
•  Create application notes for marketing purposes
•  Provide test data in support of sales
•  Work with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, network analyzers, power supplies etc) to provide technical data to customers
•  Develop technical documents including application notes, datasheets and training
•  Liaison between customer and engineering for unique customer specification
•  Travel to customer premises for technical support and presentations
•  Translate customer requirements into new product specifications for engineering
•  Maintain expert knowledge of all VF products and related technologies

Skills/Qualifications:
•  RF Design, Oscillators, Customer Interface, Market Knowledge, Presentation Skills, Technical Writing and Communication, Professionalism

Requirements:
•  MSEE or BSEE plus 5 years of working knowledge of RF components
•  Experience working with customers on technical components
•  Experience in Technical Management of customers
•  Oscillator or frequency control product
